We've been busy!

It's been a busy time since the last craft fayre...we have a big one at Dunblane on Sunday so have been spending lots of free time crafting and making sure I have enough stock! So far I think I only have to do some more wedding cards, engagement and some easter.

** apologies for the dodgy photo's, it was late and I was VERY tired **

I've also been busy with custom orders. I just recently finished this lovely little wedding card. It's different to the usual style I have for my wedding cards but I actually quite like it. Worth a little show on the blog anyway.

Also, I'm trying to think of ways to keep Harlow STAR different from other card crafters. I've never seen another range of cards with the same style as I have which is great...but I want to have that little something extra...so as well as the gift tags, bookmarks and memory boxes....welcome table confetti!

I made 15 packs of confetti. The shapes are either flowers or hearts and I made packs of baby girl, baby boy, black & white, wedding, pink, purple, green, orange, sparkly.....you name it, I made it! The confetti is great because it's all made out of different sheets of card so there is a very random selection of designs within each pack.

Falkirk Craft Fayre

Hi all!
We had our first craft fayre on Sunday in Falkirk. It was smaller than I thought it was going to be but we still managed to sell quite a bit and left happy with a few orders to get to work on. We also played around with the idea of the set-up of our table and have purchased some new things for next time. I suppose you have to start somewhere and this was our starting point. Lots was learned for the next craft fayre which is just under 2 weeks away.

Thats my mum in the photo...my little helper for the day :) Never realised until I looked back at the photo's but I really should've ironed the tablecloth...oops!

Saturday evening (the night before the fayre) was spent making some final cards for the fayre...here's some of what we came up with.

We have also been busy with custom orders - particularly R.S.V.P cards for weddings but forgot to get photo's of them before they were picked up yesterday. The sun is still shining outside so I'm sure it will inspire me to make even more!

Comic Relief Waxing Event

XXX

Time

Time never seems to be on my side at the moment. Over the last 24 hours I've spent only 6 hours in my bed as we had a charity waxing event for Comic Relief last night and my first client was in very early this morning. I'm not complaining at all because we managed to raise over £200 for such a great cause! I'm so happy we managed to raise so much money and sending a HUGE thank you to the men (John, Chris, Paul and Stuart) who got waxed! It was great fun causing you all so much pain :)

Only 2 more sleeps until the craft fayre! woohoo! I'm finishing work at 6pm tonight so will have all night tonight, tomorrow afternoon and Sunday morning to put some last handmade creations in the boxes and ready to go! I still have so much to do and running out of time to do it...story of my life! Looking for a little tabletop card display for future craft fayres so if you know of anywhere leave me a comment and I'll have a look (thank you!)

I know a few of my followers will be at the craft fayre on Sunday in Falkirk so just to warn you...I will be snap happy with my camera as I want to get LOTS of lovely photo's for my blog!

I'm waiting on the photo's of the waxing event coming through so will make sure I update again later

Been using every spare second in my hectic life to get some lovely stock made up in time for Sundays craft fayre. I hope it's a busy one after all my hard work!

Every one of our cards is completely unique and our Forever Friends Collection is limited edition...

Bookmarks

While pondering life the other night I decided to have a go at making some bookmarks. I was fed up of always folding the corner of the page of my book over to mark where I had read to. Too many times had I lost appointment cards (and even a Tesco clubcard!) as I have used them as bookmarks then forgotten about them.

The first was very much a trial run but after a few attempts I feel we have created something new and exciting in the world of Harlow Star!

We even had a go at a couple of bookmarks for the kiddies... For the last bookmark we used 3D foam lettering to spell out the word 'READ'...this can be changed to the childs name to encourage fun at reading time!

We also had a little play about with the idea of gift tags...

As I said in a previous post we have our first craft fayre on Sunday so we will find out how the bookmarks and tags go down...if they go down well they will be officially stocked as part of the Harlow STAR range! Exciting stuff!

New Creations

We have had a busy week at Harlow Star HQ and have been trying to get through as many custom orders as possible as well as make enough stock for our first craft fayre on Sunday!

We have started making bookmarks which are just lovely! So different from your usual bookmarks, each one is completely unique and just super! Hoping to get a chance to upload some photo's this afternoon so make sure you pop back for a look :)

I never like a blog post without a photo so here is a little photo of the Harlow Star mascot Cody...my beautiful (but crazy) little border collie

Mother's Day

With Mother's Day fast approaching I thought it was about time to get to work on some lovely Mother's Day cards. This is the one day in the year you get to do something a little special and show your mum just how much you appreciate her, there is no better way to do this than with a handmade card.

Here is a small selection which is on sale in the shop and on the shop facebook page

Each card is only £3 and can be posted out first class to you. To make a purchase please leave a comment on the wall on facebook
